The fabric knitting process involves the knitting and conversion of yarn to fabric. The first stage of fabric manufacturing, fabric knitting, or more specifically weft knitting, is a specialized area of textile production that is an Ocean Lanka forte. Our dedicated knitting section is equipped with approximately 200 knitting machines drawing on the highest, and most modern, standard of knitting technology available in the industry. In this regard, as well as our expertise in relation to fabric knitting, we are considered a leader among the numerous knitted fabric manufacturers in Sri Lanka. Our machinery includes Weft Circular Knitting Machines, which we use extensively as weft knit fabrics form a large part of our production capabilities. We, also, operate Auto Stripe Machines and Flat Knitting Machines in our production effort. Fukuhara, Pai-Lung, and Mayer & Cie are the manufacturers of each piece of machinery at our facility, and they are world-renowned brands from Japan, Taiwan, and Germany, respectively. The machines we own and operate allow us to produce at a capacity of 75,000-80,000 lbs of fabric per day. The state-of-the-art equipment we possess and the unconventional production techniques and fabrics that we’ve developed in liaison with our partners, ensure that we are able to provide a range of innovative textile solutions to our customers. Furthermore, our know-how is highly valued by other knitted fabric manufacturers as well as those involved in the direct manufacture of apparel.
