With prevention being the most desirable option, our objective is to minimize the resources and energy consumed during our manufacturing process. Efforts to improve the way we manage inventory, increase our right first time percentage and in turn reduce the use of water and energy are already in place. As part of our ISO 14000 certification we have challenged our business to consistently achieve and review consumption targets set throughout all our production processes.

In accordance with ISO 14064-1 Ocean Lanka published its 2011 baseline report for the quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Over the next 5 years the business is committed to reduce the amount of CO2 it generates for every kilo of fabric it manufactures and delivers to its customers.
